New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Instead of fussing over others’ lives, especially when our attention is unnecessary and distracts us from our own work, we can simply leave them alone. We trust God to work in others’ lives just as God works in ours.

—Keegan Osinski, The Upper Room Disciplines 2025 (Upper Room Books)

Today’s Question

Whose work do you pay too much attention to? What has your attention that you need to leave alone? [questions by Keegan Osinski in Disciplines 2025]

This is a first for me, i.e., a devotional comment to mind your own business, and trust God!

I don’t know that I mind too much of someone else’s business. I am trying to give this an honest consideration…someone at work…I don’t think so. Possibly, because no one else teaches the courses I teach…
What garners too much of my attention…probably one of my friendships. I can sense that I am putting too much emphasis on it…a disproportionate amount. Very convicted of this today at church. Asking God to help me be aware and repentant. As my pastor said…autopilot isn’t a good thing. Stay aware and auto correct.
Good to see my friend last night and pleasantly surprised to see her dad at the game last night. He and his wife have moved back to the area. He was at 2 football games late in the season. This is the first basketball game he has been at.
