Today’s Reflection
Note: This week’s New Every Morning reflections are structured differently to follow the format of our featured title Holy Listening, which offers 40 daily meditations with scripture verses for lectio divina, a yoga pose, a breath prayer, and reflection questions.
How does your trust grow in the waiting seasons? What areas of your life are lacking trust? Recall a time you had no choice but to be still and trust God. What did you learn?

Yes, Lord – in the stillness, in Your stillness – I long to trust, lead me deeper into surrender and complete trust.
Happy Father’s Day to Robert, David and Lowell. Last night after dinner, my sister told us what she had shared with her fellowship group via Zoom on Wednesday night. The leader had asked anyone to describe characteristics of their fathers which they appreciated. She said – dad’s unconditional love, his unselfishness and that he was a great husband to mom. Got us all a bit emotional. My dad is remarkable, I am so blessed.
Father God – please wrap Julie in Your safe arms and protect here these next days. May she sense Your Presence and may there be an added measure of peace surrounding her.
I must trust God, He is my only hope at deliverance from the pain and He is my strength through difficult times.
Prayers for Jill and happy Father’s Day to Larry. How wonderful of Becky to share such deep and loving and insightful feelings with all of you. I sense that Larry is this type of father. You both are blessed. Thank you for your prayers.
Prayers for and happy Father’s Day to Robert. I sense that the same sentiments might be shared by your daughter. You are a very devoted and selfless father. May you have a blessed day.
Prayers for Ally and David and happy Father’s Day to David as well. I pray you are able to visit with family if only by social media. I pray for your improving health and a new and better job.
Prayers for Marcy and Lucy Lou, may both be improving healthwise.
My father was a horrible person but my grandfather was an incredible man and Becky’s words for Larry would be my own regarding my grandfather. I have several pictures of him throughout my home and I gaze at them everyday. Chai was ravenous this morning as he usually eats during the night as Megan is a night owl, However, I am a morning person and follow Ben Franklin’s advice. So he met me outside my door early this morning and let me know in uncertain terms that he was HUNGRY!
Prayers for Andrea and Lowell, April, Lou, and Rick.
Prayers, thank you and good health dear UR one and all
I had no choice but to trust God as my marriage of nearly 25 years ended – it was a very painful process and I still mourn the relationship. I am sad that he has very little contact with my children and I need to trust God to keep me going so that I can be there for my family- today, Father’s Day my children came over as they do on Sundays and I am so thankful to share in the time with them. I trust God to see me through as I continue to help them and guide them as parents do. Happy Father’s Day to the fathers who are present for their children – especially to you Robert as you have sacrificed much especially for your son. Prayers for you as you continue to mourn your relationship- time helps but doesn’t heal all wounds for sure. God is near to the broken hearted – thank you God.
Prayers for Julie and her safety, for Marcy and her health – thank you for all of your prayers. Prayers of healing and happiness for David and Allie – for Rick, BJ, Jill, April and all of those who come here through faith- we trust in God alone – be still and trust –
The Lord will fight for us .
Sunday, Father’s Day. The sermons I listened to today talked about Abba, our Heavenly Father. For all those that do not have a good relationship with their earthly fathers, how blessed that we all have our Heavenly Father. And He watches over us everyday, all day.
Julie, I am praying for your safety. I used to call to check-in with my Mom twice a day. It made us both feel better. I am wondering if Megan might be able to connect with you on a regular schedule or if you might have such as device such as a lifeline (that is what we called it). It could be a necklace or a bracelet that is worn and if there was a time that you needed help immediately, you would just push the button. The call from the button went to the police (it might be another 24/7 service) to initiate the chain of events for someone to come check on you. You list 3 contacts and the police or 24/7 service activates the first, second, third and finally the police so that someone responds to your call. Every 24 hours, you would push the button, to check in, and reset the 24 hour time. If they have not heard from you in 24 hours, the system is activated. I have seen this used for medical emergencies, but a friend who owned a liquor store, also had this for his employees so that if they needed emergency help, they could activate it. At one time the cost was like $25 a month, some were free based on need. It might be more or less depending on your location. Just a thought…in the meantime, I know I feel better when I see you have posted every morning….and if you posted in the evening, I would say a prayer of thanks for Him being with you during the day.
The weather was beautiful today. We went for a walk and I heard so many new birds singing. The baby ducks are growing up. We see signs of a beaver at work on a tree close to the river. There are also more branches in the river and it looks like the beginnings of a beaver dam…will watch and see.
So much going on this week….Oh Heavenly Father, please look down and comfort us with your presence in our world. Heal us, Oh Lord. Prayers for our UR Family.
