New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

God has already given you everything you need to live a whole life—no matter your hurts or wounds. Over the years, I told myself that if I were in good health, had a rewarding job, made good choices as a parent, spent time with people I cared about, and had the right tools for listening to God, I would finally discover God’s peace. Instead, while I am grateful for rewarding and fruitful seasons of life, no latest and greatest item, season, skill, or technique will draw me nearer to God. Getting a good report from the doctor or being out of debt may offer comfort, but they will not foster a relationship with God. By prioritizing time and space with God and learning the ways you best connect with your Creator, you may find you already have everything you need to listen for God.

Today’s Scripture

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.

At night in bed, when I have locked my door against h and the kitties are with me and I can finally just relax and rest.
I had a different therapist yesterday at physical therapy and he worked me hard and my ankle is throbbing today. Also my stomach bothers me constantly now. I cannot believe how much my body has changed since the first of the year.
Prayers for Ally and her new job opportunities, may they help with the financial difficulties. Prayers for April. Prayers for Jill and her tennis team friends who have ailing family members, may all find strength for the coming days. Prayers for Lou and her daughter. Prayers for Robert as he continues to perform the many actions needed for the move to the Poconos. May this first weekend of the condo being on the market prove fruitful.

There is peace in the morning – with a new twist to my routine. I now sit on my bench near where Roger eats. He seems distracted if I am not right there and then doesn’t eat. So, I sit quietly and pray, sometimes spending time in the Psalms while he takes his time with his breakfast.
I experience immense peace at the ocean, or when hiking in the woods or near a stream. It is good to be in nature and have all my senses in tune.
This morning I cut some of my lilac bushes and took them in to school. Took some vases and made bouquets for my close teacher colleague, an assistant principal who commented on a bouquet I had in my office a few years back – so now she always gets some, and myself. Will freshen them on Monday.
Got my pneumonia booster after school – hoping to not have any ill effects when I wake up in the morning. Am supposed to play tennis with a friend at 8 and then dad and I have a tee time around 11. Very warm and muggy here. Happy to be home and in for the evening after a week full of tennis evenings.

In the morning, I enjoy sitting by the window, and reading. I love being at our nearby beach at Torrey Pines state preserve.Either hiking or walking along the beach. I also love just being in nature. Having grown up in the northeast i do miss the beauty and fragrance of lilacs. I started feeling like I was getting the flu last evening, and ran a gap over night. I Brooke at some point. So I went and got a covid test today and was seen in ER. As I’m fully vaccinated and both boosters as well as flu he wasn’t concerned. I’ll take it easy and stay isolated until I get my results. Keeping your prayers and concerns in my prayers ❤️🙏🏻
