New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Spiritual formation and contemplative prayer practices, like reflective reading of scripture, enable us to slow the pace of our busy minds and lives. … It’s astonishing how many words and images we encounter each day, all competing for
our attention. It is more important than ever to find time when we may be called into praise and hope for victory over life’s challenges. We receive this gift in worship with others. Worship invites us into
reflection on our own life through scripture, exhortation of the Word, prayers, hymns, and support of the community. We emerge refreshed
and ready for the week ahead.

Today’s Scripture

Prayer for the Week

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and
the glory, forever. Amen.

I find it meaning more and more to me. The longer I attend my current church, make more friends there and become more involved, the more I wish I could attend every Sunday. I do enjoy my time with Megan very much though. She will be with her father this Sunday so I will attend church.
Shopping together today and then Megan will be heading to the birthday party she is attending this evening. She leaves this afternoon as they are going axe throwing first.

Worship has become more and more meaningful, important as the time where I feel touched by the Holy Spirit. Almost always there is some moment when this happens. It often comes zero out of nowhere but focused on me.
I’m very thankful for these moments. They keep me going. Sunday worship, before, during, and after is very special.
More wonderful weather, a bit warm, but not unpleasant. Off for a walk soon.
A meaningful Memorial Day weekend to you all. Thank You, Lord.

Knowing and embracing that worship exists outside of the walls of a church, as well as within – is liberating and gratitude inducing. For me, worship in community on Sundays is super important. But, worshiping God in nature, with my body during physical activity, and even in authentic conversations has brought a new dimension to my life. Worship = honoring Him, and it is interwoven in my life.
Played a bit of tennis with my long time doubles partner this morning, and felt fairly good. It is the first time I have played singles in probably close to a year. Spent the remainder of the day at Becky, Don and dads – I picked up Chinese. We played a lot of cards and got out for a leisurely walk.
Dad and I will golf tomorrow after church. Weather looks to be stupendous. Hoping to begin planting flowers tomorrow also.
