New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Unless Jesus is an active agent in the world, unless Jesus is alive—unless the One we seek is seeking us—then everything about seeking beauty in Jesus rather than beauty itself, seeking justice in Jesus, and seeking truth in Jesus is just pure semantics, a pious way of continuing life as it already was. But if Jesus is alive, if the One we seek is seeking us, then we have nothing less than what the Bible calls the gospel: the good news that everything we’ve been chasing, everything we’ve ever wanted, everything we need for abundant life is found in a person, and that person is alive and at work in the world.

Today’s Scripture

But the angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He isn’t here, because he’s been raised from the dead, just as he said. Come, see the place where they laid him.”
—Matthew 28:5-6 (CEB)

All the hope required for my earthly sojourn is that He is alive. What a bonus to know He seeks me out, He desires relationship, He wants me to lean in and follow Him.
The change in the seasons is evident here, as cooler temps have arrived and I turned on my furnace this morning. I traveled to my tennis match yesterday, about an hour away, and there is little to no change in color of the trees as yet. But, Fall is in the air – and I want to be aware of the beauty of the colors which only occur during this next month or so.
There is to be abundant sunshine today, to take the bite out of the cooler air, and dad and I have a tee-time in the early afternoon. These days are fleeting and I will try to be very in the moment this afternoon with him. Sometimes he gets so wrapped up in how he is playing, that I think we miss golden moments of being together.

It is this thought that keeps me slogging through each day. That I do not go through this horror on my own but with Him by my side. Thank you, Lord, for carrying me through this horror of a life.
Megan will be with her father visiting his mother until late Wednesday night. H left very early this morning for his “friends” house. I will give an example of this man’s emotional maturity or lack thereof. This morning the refrigerator shelf that he keeps his things on broke off completely due to him putting too much weight on it. It happened when I opened the door. When he saw it he stamped his feet and said “I can’t believe you did this!” I reminded him that I had warned him repeatedly and he kicked the broken pieces and left the whole mess sit.
Prayers for Jill and Larry, may they enjoy the golf game as well as relish the good weather and time together.
Prayers for Robert and his church which continues to be safe and use Zoom.
Prayers for Marcy, may her migraine pain remainat bay until October and the Botox shots.
Prayers for Ally and David, for more clients for Ally and better endurance for David. Prayers for Mr Pete and his family.
Prayers for Rick and Scott, may they stay well and safe while they look for better housing.
Prayers, thank you and stay well dear UR
