New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today's Reflection

EXHALING IS the letting go of the chaos and clutter in our lives. These distractions drain us and create a barrier between God and us. If we are cocreators, the exhale of sabbath gives us the space and refreshment for the inhale of creativity.

—Valerie K. Isenhower, Meditation on Both Sides of the Camera: A Spiritual Journey in Photography (Upper Room Books, 2012)

Today's Question

How can you participate in the exhale of sabbath today?

Today's Scripture

“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.”
—Psalm 23:1-3a (NRSV)
