New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

God of restoration and renewal, thank you for your forgiveness. We confess that we sometimes walk like people who are discouraged and defeated rather than forgiven and victorious. Help us claim stability and strength in every area of our lives. Empower us with divine insight and understanding into all things that bring joy and peace, hope and prosperity into our lives. We believe and confess that today is a day of new beginnings. In Jesus’ name we pray and submit ourselves to you alone. Amen.

Prayer for the Week

Almighty God, speak to us today as you spoke to those who went before us. Tell us the stories of Your wonders and greatness. We are ready to hear them. Remind us once again of your grace and love. Help us teach your goodness to our children and the next generation. Amen. [prayer adapted from “Worship Resources for Juneteenth Day Celebrations” in The Africana Worship Book (Year C)]

Reading the Psalms is very helpful and uplifting.
Prayers for all facing super hot temps and super high humidity. Of all the weather related fatalities, HEAT is the number one cause. Do all you can to stay cool and check in on others.
Prayers for no new war and the end of current wars.
Thank You, Lord, for Your ever presence.

Praise music- or Jesus music as my kids tease me- it’s always on in my car. I’m glad they notice!
