New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

HEEDING GOD’S CALL can mean leaving home and all that is familiar. It can demand our accumulated wealth and security or dare us to place our blessings, even our lives, at risk. It can also mean simply living where we are but with an entirely new set of priorities. In every case, our particular vocation in God’s service arises from our response to the basic call to radical availability.

Today’s Scripture

How the mighty have fallen in the midst of the battle! Jonathan lies slain upon your high places.

There are times when I feel I am radically available and at other times I am not so sure. Only God knows for sure whether I am or not. I pray that I “do the gospel”.

Thankful for a very helpful worship service, the music and sermon, spoke to me. The possibility to have some help baking Hermit cookies also presented itself. Have to pursue that.

Thoughts of and prayers for family, church friends, the UR family, immigrants and refugees, God’s wisdom for all leaders and government bodies, those facing natural disaster, violence, and disruption. Lord, may the needs of Your people be met, may Your guidance and example be followed. Help us stay on the path that leads to You.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom com, Thy will be done, here on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

I aim to be radically available, yet wonder how God defines radically. I have stepped away from mentoring the young mom, first to attend to my medical issues and now to be attentive to my parents’ needs. Trusting God will make it known where I am needed and in what manner.
This week my church is hosting a kids tennis camp for ages 6-12. I am not used to working with kiddos of this age group and hope I can muster the energy and enthusiasm to work with them. It runs Monday-Thursday mornings.
A very meaningful sermon yesterday is still forefront in my mind this morning. It seems that virtually everything I read and hear all pertains to my mother. Father, please help me to know how to act and what to say…lead me.
Continued prayers for Julie and her daughter – their physical and emotional safety.

      I praise you, God

      Sorry for the typo error

I actually have no choice but use their tuition time to teach them the spelling words and test their spelling.

Spent yesterday with my daughter and we tried to enjoy the day together. She was quite upset by the information I found and I had to be strong and positive for her. I will call my lawyer today and relate the huge disparity between her words to me and “husband’s” lawyer to him.
    Please pray for me.
I seek God’s leading,His will, and His rest and strength.
Blessngs and prayers for and thank you to all of the UR family
Your prayers and words of support sustain me
If I may Lou, you mentioned you are self employed, would you share what is your job?

Praise God for the beauty of this time of year, for walks in the long evenings, for a dear neighbor friend, for quilting friends, for UR friends, for my loved ones.

God be with Robert, Erich, and Anneliese; Mary, her parents and students; Jill, her parents, sister, and summer tennis kiddos; Julie and her daughter; Marcy; Lou and her children; and all UR friends.

I am visiting my daughter and grandson this afternoon and ask for your prayers. I have not seen them since before our trip to South Dakota.

I will ponder the question of today’s reflection. I strive to be radically available to those I encounter every day.

    Blessings and prayers.

Wonderful news from you, Andrea, taking a class with your daughter.

Lately my email box is so full of messages that I think I miss the confirmation message and thus don’t get all the responsive posts. Hopefully I’m caught up.
