Today’s Reflection
We have places of fear inside of us, but we have other places as well—places with names like trust and hope and faith. We can choose to lead from one of those places, to stand on ground that is not riddled with the fault lines of fear, to move toward others from a place of promise instead of anxiety. As we stand in one of those places, fear may remain close at hand and our spirits may still tremble. But now we stand on ground that will support us, ground from which we can lead others toward a more trustworthy, more hopeful, more faithful way of being in the world.

Prayer for the Week
New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

We do not hope for what is seen, but for what is unseen. The unseen is more important than the seen. Faith, hope, love, mercy and grace are all unseen, we can experience them, but not purchase or hold them in our hands. Thank You , Lord, for these spiritual rocks that sustain us.
Pearl is recovering very well from her dental surgery, we have a new propane provider, there was a nice breakfast by a waterfall yesterday, the deck floor is almost completely sanded, and there was some rain last night. Thank You, Lord.
Yes Robert – thank you for your comment –
Hope in our Foundation is the foundation we tread on each day, moment to moment. Hope of eternity with Him, hope in His guidance, hope in our ability and desire to be obedient. God, help us when our hope falters. Renew us again.
My tennis friend invited my dad and I to play golf at the private country club she and her husband belong to. Weather wasn’t a sure thing, but we got the round in before the rain came. Dad was so happy to play and my friend is very sweet to him. She even asked us to have lunch with her on the patio. I so appreciate my friends who treat my dad so special.
My friend and I are headed out west this weekend, to stay at my friend’s cabin in Montana. Lots of hiking planned. Pretty much going to be off the grid – I am sure the serenity of that will be rewarding. Record heat out there, which might cause us to cut back our activities. Will have to see.
