New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

I want to invite you to consider all that stresses you out at this very moment. What are you overwhelmed by? Could you make a hard reset and start fresh with a new perspective? What could you do to intentionally practice being with God throughout the course of your days and nights? If you’re a pastor or a ministry leader, who are some other leaders in your circle who could share the load? Where can you carve more time to be with your family?

Today’s Scripture

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
—Philippians 4:6-7 (NRSVUE)

Prayer for the Week

Something More

What if the contradictions within the Old Testament weren’t problems to be resolved but rather essential to its deepest meaning? In Sacred Tension, biblical scholar William P. Brown invites us to consider the Old Testament as a wide-ranging dialogue in conversation with itself and with us.

I seem to live life waiting for the “other shoe to drop.” I need to reset and trust that my heavenly Father is watching over me.

Being with family is a great RESET! Celebrating an ALL IN ONE holiday with Birthdays, Christmas, New Years’ Valentine’s Day, and Seollal. Not so easy getting together since I live 6 hours by car away.
Dodged the snow and made it. Very excited and happy.. Thank You. Lord

It is currently snowing which is expected to change to rain which will continue into tomorrow. Then sometime tomorrow early afternoon it will change back to snow. I am worried about making it back from church before the weather changes especially since there will be a celebration after church due to a baptism and I am on the committee that hosts these celebrations. I am also concerned about the amount of snow that will fall Sunday into Monday as I have a vet appointment for Bug on Monday. I will give my concerns to God.
