Today’s Reflection
Mysticism includes spiritual experience and remains intrinsic to human life. Without the tempering processes of wise discernment, it can lead to unbalanced and destructive practice. The mystical element of spirituality is vital to knowing and loving God and to loving and serving our neighbors. When we reclaim mysticism and place it in its rightful place in the Christian life and when we learn with Paul to listen to God, using good practices of discernment, we will find our way out of the ditch and back onto the way of Jesus.

Today’s Question
Who can you count on to help you practice spiritual discernment? Join the conversation.
Today’s Scripture
I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel that was proclaimed by me is not of human origin, for I did not receive it from a human source, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.
—Galatians 1:11-12 (NRSVUE)
Prayer for the Week
Holy God, thank you for the many expressions of church that are available to us today. Help us remember that we are your beloved children. Guide us to love one another and to remain faithful to you through prayer and other spiritual practices. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Today’s question doesn’t have a clear answer. While someone may be present who can help with spiritual discernment, I have not been in any conversation of that sort. I’m very dependent on God with help from New Every Morning, Bible book study, and worship. Thank You, Lord.
I agree with Robert and add my pastor to his list of sources of discernment.
One of the secrets of life is that all that is really worth the doing is what we do for others.
