New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

COMMUNAL PRAISE and devotion is not about hypocrisy—acting one way on Sunday and living another way Monday through Saturday; it’s about reinforcement and reminders. Holy spaces offer opportunities to be focused on devotion—acknowledging the Divine, giving thanks, confessing our shortcomings, and turning to God—in a way that shapes us the rest of the week. This time spent in communal worship is like exercising: It strengthens us and makes us accountable to God and to others. In worship, we gain gospel muscle memory for the week.

Today’s Scripture

So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God; for those who enter God’s rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.

Good morning, UR family! May all of you have a blessed day. “Father, help us to accept the things we cannot change.” I really, really love this group. Julie, I pray that you are well. To me, you are still able to communicate. Jesus is alive and well!

I would count my small group time as a critical component of my communal worship. Transparency in a safe space, where confession is evident – this provides opportunity to put voice to things deep within. Clearing out that space – for me – is so impactful – and ultimately opens that space to more of the Spirit and an awareness of His Presence. Gratitude and recollection of the good of the previous week is also so important – celebrating little victories as well as significant ones – throwing praise to Him.
I thank you all for your prayers – I have been approved for the new treatment. The time-line is uncertain, but I received an email from my on-line prescription center that the “starter dose” would be sent. I have had no contact with the specialty pharmacy as yet. Very grateful.
A blustery, snowy morning here. Grateful for a reliable car and a warm house.

I haven’t gone in so long…sigh. But when I did attend my last church, I felt ill at ease and tense, especially in the women’s small group study. I especially felt judged by one member of that group.
Prayers for BJ. I rejoice in hearing from you fellow UR poster! You are certainly great at reminding me (correcting my sight and thoughts) that I have so much to be grateful for and to add my God is great! Amen and Amen!
Prayers for Jill, prayers of thanks for the med approval and prayers the new med will be effective with no side effects.
Prayers for Robert. Lord please lead him to the replacement vehicle that will meet his needs and be safe and reliable.
Prayers for Andrea, April, Betsy, Connie, Edy, Lou, Mary, Marcy and Rick.
It is snowy and blustery here today as well, but not as cold as past winters. Thank you and praises Lord.
    Prayers and thank you UR

I find it hard to describe the benefit I feel from worship on Sunday. It is certainly there and I am thankful for it. For sone time I have little moments in worship where I feel “touched”. They come without any forecast and can come at any time.

Thankful Jill’s new medicine has been approved. Hope it comes soon and can be used with positive results.

Julie, even in church there are people who twirk us in a way that makes us uncomfortable. They don’t stop me from going to church, the positive far outweighs the negative. Love your neighbor as yourself, even love your enemies. Thank you always for your prayers, a replacement vehicle will come in due time.

No snow here, slush on the ground, and rain in the air. The very hoped for big snowfall disappeared. No it surely isn’t as cold as it was when I was a kid and up through college. Global warming, climate change is very real.

I too, pray for Andrea, April, Betsy, Connie, Edy, Lou, Mary, Marcy and Rick and add Rusty and K plus the un-named UR family. Prayers for all facing or dealing with the coronavirus where ever they are.

Thank You, Lord, for the blessings of the day.
