New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

WHEREVER HE GOES, Jesus extends God’s mercy, power, forgiveness, and healing, and the most ordinary things are transformed—like water into wine. He opens the eyes of people who are blind, literally and figuratively, and releases people from whatever holds them captive. He transforms the lives of all he encounters, and he continues to do so.

To be more fully aligned with God and His desires for us, we must remain close to Him, abiding more fully, prayerfully asking for eyes to see His vision and ears to hear His commands. It is about intentionality.
It is quite cold here this morning and just a little while ago, a snow plow came through. I didn’t leave the house yesterday – I have quite enjoyed being housebound for these past two days. I did get out and shovel yesterday afternoon – a fair bit of blowing snow. Wind chills are well below zero this morning and acutal temps are to be below zero overnight and into tomorrow morning. We will see if there is school tomorrow.
Grateful for a functional furnace (new in the last year or two) and for heated blankets. Roger and I have been taking full advantage of these the past few days. Grateful for a neighbor who used his snow blower on the bottom of my driveway…from the street to the sidewalk. The remainder of my driveway is gravel – so a snow blower can’t work on that portion. He was out for four hours yesterday morning, clearing sidewalks and driveways of other neighbors.

In rereading the Gospels, I’ve become aware of how Jesus showed mercy and love to those that were overlooked and undervalued. I feel that is what He asks of us; to be servants and to serve.
Have returned from meeting our grandson, Harrison. We are overjoyed and overwhelmed by God’s blessings! He is beautiful (of course) and alert. The new parents are home and settled with their new son; praying for patience, calm and rest for them as they learn to maneuver caring for an infant. also praying that I can wait to asked when assistance is needed before jumping in. I want so much to be there with them. Thanks to all of you for your heartfelt prayers.
Jill, prayers for Gloria. I can see how losing so many of your peer group can be sad and despairing. She is such an active person, and it is hard to see others be taken from you. Enjoy your day off.
Snow here and cold temperatures. Be safe everyone affected by the winter weather. Blessings to all.

Yes, may we extend God’s mercy, power, forgiveness and healing and the most ordinary things are transformed!

Glad that you are safely back after visiting your grandson and family, Betsy!

    Prayers and blessings to all!

I believe we are enabled by the Holy Spirit to love as Jesus loves. And yes, In agree with Jill’s statements that we need “To be more fully aligned with God and His desires for us, we must remain close to Him, abiding more fully, prayerfully asking for eyes to see His vision and ears to hear His commands. It is about intentionality.”

Wonderful news, Harrison is here. Prayers that Kelsey is doing well too. Thankful for Betsy’s safe travels.

A sermon by email-and video yesterday as we had no worship service at church.

-11 here, 18-24 inches of new snow, thankfully the driveway and roads are plowed. Didn’t see the eclipse of the moon, although I tried. Was in all day yesterday, with cleared roads and driveway I’ll venture out today. Have to clear off the car and do some shoveling beside the house.

Continued prayers for Marcy and her helper Mary, Julie and Megan, Gloria and Larry. Thankful God is with us always. Hopeful that this week news comes that Erich can go to work. It will be a great help for him.

This is the day that the Lord hath made let us rejoice and be glad. Thank You, Lord for the blessings of the day.

I believe this reflection and those from last week are complimentary. If we spend time meditating on God, then we can discern more fully how to emulate His love and compassion for others (as well as ourselves).
Megan and I had to run errands on Saturday, but the weather heldoff unti we were finished. We had rain rather than snow during the day and it changed to snow overnight. We had to venture out again Sunday. The roads were not too bad but it was bitter cold and windy. The h is trying to undermine my sense of safety. Trying to remain strong and calm.
Prayers for Jill and Roger and for the luxury of staying home during the bad weather.
Prayers of thankfulness and many congratulations to Betsy and her family. I pray Kelsey and Harrison are healthy. Prayers of thanksgiving for safe travel and patience for the new grandparents.
Prayers for Mary and her succinct and profound insights.
Prayers for Robert and Erich. May Erich start his new job soon and may Robert remain safe today as he ventures out.
Prayers for Connie and her family during this snow storm, may they be safe and well.
Prayers for Andrea and Lowell and may they be safe as they travel to the PT and may it continue to heal them.
Prayers for April and her family.
Prayers for Marcy and Lucy, may they be safe and well. Mayy Marcy feel our loving prayers for her surround her and buoy her.
    Prayers dear UR family

Julie, this Bible verse from Ephesians 6:10-11 comes to mind: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power. Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

God bless you with the firm security of knowing you are protected and safe. I pray for an excellent resolution of your home situation for you.

“Jesus transforms the live of all He encounters, and he continues to do so.”
I am grateful for continued transformation, for I need to grow spiritually. I pray to love more closely to Jesus’ love for others.

Bless Harrison and his parents, and bless Grandma Betsy in her new role. I pray for them; and I pray for Jill, Gloria, Larry, and Becky; for Robert, Erich, and Anneliese; for Julie and Megan; for Connie and her husband; for Lou and her children; for Mary and her parents; for April; and for Marcy, who is missed and in my heart. May all know with confidence that God is our unshakeable rock and refuge.

My foot is slowly getting better. How I miss my normal activities, especially taking walks. I am thankful for the sun shining, for a peaceful day, for a hot bowl of oatmeal with maple syrup.

    Blessings, all.

Gracious God, keep those in the path of this winter storm safe and sheltered.

Hi all. Have spent several days in hospital and migraines, heart worries, loss of vision. Then no phone, also meant no Internet. Back home. Have more testing coming. Love to all and keep all in prayer.
