Today’s Reflection
GRATITUDE expands our capacity for delight. Delight, joy, and happiness are gifts God wants to give us in all circumstances and in spite of our circumstances. When we express gratitude—when we find delight in God’s goodness—we are freer to love and serve others. We are able to serve others not out of obligation or guilt but… simply because life is a gift meant to be shared.
—Rebecca Dwight Bruff, Loving the World with God: Fourth Day Living (Upper Room Books, 2014)
Today’s Question
Where do you find delight? Share your thoughts.
Today’s Scripture
“This is the day that the LORD has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
—Psalm 118:24 (NRSV)
Prayer for the Week
Grant us, Lord God, a vision of your world as your love would have it:
a world where the weak are protected, and none go hungry or poor;
a world where the riches of creation are shared, and everyone can enjoy them;
a world where different races and cultures live in harmony and mutual respect;
a world where peace is built with justice, and justice is guided by love.
Give us the inspiration and courage to build it, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I find delight in engaging with others in meaningful conversation. In sharing stories of God’s faithfulness. In comforting others in times of need.
I find delight in Roger joining me when I am wrapped in my heated blanket. His closeness, a comfort.
I find delight in being at home, the quietness. Especially in the days to come – not much on the schedule outside of home. The leisureliness of the morning, not aware of the clock as I sit in my blue chair, run in the daylight and hopefully taking morning naps.
This morning delight came from Willa who Face Timed me all by herself. She’s a first grader. Looks like a nice day too. Thankfully the cork roadbed on
the model railroad is done. 20 turkeys and all the fixings delivered to schools for families who wouldn’t otherwise have dinner on Thanksgiving. A warm house on a chilly day. Thank You, Lord for many blessings.
I certainly pray this week’s prayer for everyone. It is a much needed prayer.
Prayers for teachers and students in the days before Thanksgiving recess. It’s practice for a repeat before Christmas.
Safe travel prayers for the many who will be on the roads, tracks, or in the air this week. God’s peace be with you all. Thank You, Lord.
I find delight in the Christian friendships I have found on this site. I find delight in my daughter and our relationship. I find delight in my kitties and theirlove and funny antics.
Prayers for Jill and Roger as they spend quiet time together.
Prayers for Robert and his grandaughter, may both be blessed by their relationship. The market in Pittsburgh is the only one in Pennsylvania and in fact was the first and only one in this country when it began. I bought German gingerbread (not at the market) made by a company that has been in business for over 300 years and have ordered a selection of cookies from them as well.
Prayers for Mary as she prepares for her mission trip.
Megan and I will be traveling to my mother’s for the holiday.
Prayers and thank you UR
Thank you Julie!
May you and Megan have a safe trip and good bonding time with your mum. I’m sure your mum will be thrilled to see both of you.
I too find delight in the friends here as well as friends in church. I also find delight in playing the piano and studying the Bible, applying what I have learned and sharing the lessons I’ve learned.
Blessings to all and prayers for your well-being!
I find delight in cooking and spending quality time with my children who are all adults now. I also find delight in sharing memories of how I was raised by my loving grandmother.
I think it would be half to re-reading is a gift that was given to me by my mother years and years ago
I share delight in loving and helping others in this troubled world through my faith and a Christian
I find delight in being with my family and with friends, in the cardinals that are gathering at my feeder, in the beauty of the sunrise this morning as I walked my pup, in the simple task of putting Christmas lights in the trees around my home, and in cooking for my son who always appreciates my food. I’m late to the site today and I am waiting to pick up my youngest at the airport late tonight- I delight in the fact that there were no delays and getting to Laguardia and through security was uneventful for her. I am happy to have her home for almost a week before she returns for finals. Safe travels to all those traveling this thanksgiving- there is much to be thankful for – praise God.
