New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

God, your peace,
Your comfort,
Your healing presence.

Send them into
The places of deep sadness,
The wounds,
The disappointments,
The tears and aching hearts.

Touch the tear-lined cheeks
With your kiss of peace.

—Beth A. Richardson, “For One Who Is Hurting,” in Christ Beside Me, Christ Within Me: Celtic Blessings (Upper Room Books, 2016)

Today’s Question

Who do you know who is hurting and struggling through a difficult time? With that person in mind, pray the blessing in today’s reflection. Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place.
—Psalm 118:5 (NRSVUE)

Prayer for the Week

Chris and Jomarie Adams, Chris is in hospice care dying from cirrhosis of the liver, Jomarie is his wife, both are members of Center Conway UMC. All is being done to make this transition as painless as possible for Chris.
Prayers for peaceful, non-violent No Kings protest today. Democracy is under attack and must be preserved. I am thankful the UMC is supporting immigrants.
Thank You, Lord, for Your ever presence, may we love our neighbors, all of them, including enemies, as ourselves. We protest their behavior, not their being.

A friend who lost her husband to suicide is who I send this blessing to.
There are always flowers for those who want to see them.
