Today’s Reflection
You come to us, gracious God, in so many ways to bless us
and to make us whole and to show us your love.
Help us to look forward to being with you as our dearest
friend in all these ways. When we are with you, enable us
to abide in your presence and to rejoice in your love as the
most important reality of our lives.
—Paul W. Chilcote, Praying in the Wesleyan Spirit: 52 Prayers for Today (Upper Room Books, 2001)

Today’s Scripture
Ever since the days of your ancestors you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.
—Malachi 3:7 (NRSVUE)
Prayer for the Week
Gracious God, fill our hearts to overflowing, that we may live not in fear but in joyful obedience. When we stumble or fall short, remind us that your mercy meets us there, inviting us to grow, to abide, and to rejoice in your presence. Let our lives be shaped by your love and sustained by your Spirit. Amen.

Something More
In the devotional classic Praying in the Wesleyan Spirit, renowned Wesleyan scholar Paul Chilcote invited readers to experience the spiritual depth of John Wesley’s sermons through devotional prayer. Now, in Transformed by Grace: 52 More Prayers in the Wesleyan Spirit, Chilcote continues this journey, offering a fresh collection of weekly prayers and hymns inspired by Wesley’s later sermons. Not quite sure, but maybe so, I couldn’t attend or watch any 250th anniversary celebration of activity due to the pain the big awful bill now law caused. I joyfully will participate in a protest march today. My posters: RESIST AND OVER COME, EQUAL RIGHTS, and DUE PROCESS.
I believe we, as Christians, are to work for social justice . Thank You, Lord.
I sense God drawing near when my kitties look at me with love and purr. I feel God drawing near when I am in nature or even look out my window and see the beautiful vista. I feel God drawing near to me when my neighbor and I exchange favors and when she invited me to join her family yesterday. Thank you, Lord.
Marcie,I am praying for you.
Great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance.
