Today’s Reflection
Repentance—truly knowing my inmost self—will always
precede my experience of your pardoning
love and acceptance.
Humble joy will fill my heart if the Spirit is truly with me.
—Paul W. Chilcote, Praying in the Wesleyan Spirit: 52 Prayers for Today (Upper Room Books, 2001)

Today’s Scripture
It is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God
—Romans 8:16 (NRSVUE)
Prayer for the Week
Gracious God, fill our hearts to overflowing, that we may live not in fear but in joyful obedience. When we stumble or fall short, remind us that your mercy meets us there, inviting us to grow, to abide, and to rejoice in your presence. Let our lives be shaped by your love and sustained by your Spirit. Amen.

Humble joy is a mostly present smile on my face, a friendly temperament. Thank You, Lord.
I am humble because I know that my happiness and forgiveness are from God even though I remain a sinner.
Marcy, I am praying for you.
