New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Wilderness times invite integrity, truth-telling, and lament. There is great suffering in the world, in communities, churches, and families. We can be honest in expressing to God our hopes and our fears, our anger and our despair. Our spiritual ancestors modeled for us the practice of lament, of expressing our deepest grief and sorrow to God. . . .

The Holy One invites us to lay our prayers at the base of Christ’s cross and to know that God hears our cries. God is our hope.

Concern for Erich’s future as we explore a new idea. Concern for the current multifaceted situation in the US and its effect on the world, the end of wars in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan, and the Congo. Concern for the health of those with difficult diseases and peace to those who are grieving. It’s a heavy load, but God is able. Thank You, Lord.

Concern for the future of our country. Concern for those who are being affected by the current situation. Concern by the wars and haphazard actions of our government. Lord, YHWH, I Am, please help us!

Yes, concern for our country and its future. Concern for our democracy. Concern for those in the world that we have previously provided aid to who are no longer receiving the aid because of the closing of the government agency tasked with providing the aid. Concern for our relationships with our allies and our standing in the world.
