New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Standing at the water’s edge, I squint ino the bright sun and study the ocean as far as I can see. The sky and sea blur together at the horizon, both vast blankets of never-ending blue. As my eyes move closer to the shoreline, the water changes to turquoise with waves that tumble, pale frothy, onto the sand. Watching the surf is both mesmerizing and oddly reassuring–the uneven rush of water, waves that overlap one another, swells interrupted by the wake of a passing boat. One wave flows in; another recedes. Wave upon wave, the ocean rolls onto the sand. The waves are like God’s glorious grace, rushing in again and again.

I have been redeemed and accepted as His child and my sins have been forgiven again and again.
Yesterday was full of errands. I bought 3 new appliances that will be delivred and installed on Friday. I can’t wait. We also sold books at a used book store. Many other items crossed off the to do list. Now today, many phone calls need to be made.
