New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

When faced with adversity, seeking God becomes an intentional choice to align our hearts with God’s. It is also an act of humility, recognizing that our understanding is limited, that we need the guidance of the One who holds the bigger picture. The promise that God is near resonates with the assurance that even in the darkest moments, God’s presence is a source of comfort and strength.

—Osheta Moore, “Seek the Lord,” in Disciplines 2025 (Upper Room Books, 2024)

I am very aware of God’s ever presence, I start the day with New Every Morning. Thank You, Lord. Off on a trip to the area where I lived for the first 14 yers of my life. Don’t get there often. Will drive through notch between Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak to the town where I was born. Then on to the city where I went to high school. Learned German there and that opened a life long ever widening experience with the area where my family came from. Thank You, Lord.

I feel like I am in a season of wilderness. Dark night of the soul thing. Since reporting the bullying incidents, things have gotten worse at work. I have been sort of not doing much in the way of spiritual things. I need to pray about my next step. I covet your prayers.

Prayers for Ally. I am also in need of prayer and God’s love and guidance. Megan blew up at me on Monday and she is moving out. In the meantime she continues to live in my house and use the resources but refuses to do any of her chores. She immediately called her dad and demanded he buy a house instead of trying to stand on her own two feet and supporting herself. She refuses to speak to me. I am very hurt.
