Today’s Reflection
God has given creation, including humanity, its freedom and it is, tragically, often exercised in ways that are evil. Such is the world in which we live. But it need not be.

Something More
What if the contradictions within the Old Testament were not problems to be resolved but instead were essential to its deepest meaning? In Sacred Tension, biblical scholar William P. Brown invites us to consider the Old Testament as a wide-ranging dialogue in conversation with itself and with us. Now available here.

I can bring light and healing to the world by being present and listening well. By devoting my full attention to the task at hand, as opposed to multi-tasking. This morning I will volunteer at the basketball league – running the clock and keeping the scorebook.
The remainder of the day will be quiet at home. I have quite a bit of schoolwork to complete. I will have my second formal observation of the school year on Wednesday – and have to get all my ducks in a row. My pre-conference for the observation is Monday morning. My evaluator is pretty thorough and a stickler. Lots of basketball will be on in the background, as well as the golf tournament.
Following a busy week – it will be nice to be home most of the day.
