Today’s Reflection
God does care! In fact, God cares a lot, so much so that God has bestowed humanity with its own form of majesty. Not a sovereign majesty over the stars—that’s God’s domain—but a majesty over the creatures of the earth.
—William P. Brown, Sacred Tension: Embracing Dissonance and Dialogue in the Old Testament (Upper Room Books, 2025)
Today’s Question
How can you care for the earth in ways that reflect God’s love for creation? Join the conversation.
Today’s Scripture
You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet.
—Psalm 8:6 (NIV)
Prayer for the Week
Loving God, thank you for entrusting us with the gift of your creation. Help us to honor the earth with humility and to reflect your love in all we do. Amen.

Something More
What if the contradictions within the Old Testament were not problems to be resolved but instead were essential to its deepest meaning? In Sacred Tension, biblical scholar William P. Brown invites us to consider the Old Testament as a wide-ranging dialogue in conversation with itself and with us. Now available here.

Support programs (Naure Conxervancy, Audobon, National Parks) that care for this planet, grow plants that help butterflies and birds, advocate against pollution, global warming, climate change urging the government to reduce fossil fuels and support clean renewable energy. Support clean up of toxic sites, oil spills, and mining pollution. We are to care for the earth, it is a responsibility given us by God.
Recycle, don’t litter support organizations that care for stray animals. Use energy efficient appliances and be informed consumers.
Just looking back through last week’s comments…to Ruth – regarding the cancer support group.
I also facilitate GriefShare – and understand your comment regarding structure. The cancer support group meets once a month – and there is a time of discussion on a Bible passage – with some leading questions. Then, following that, there is a time to share updates and new requests. So – its more of a meeting for people with cancer or those supporting people with cancer. There are a few nurses, pathologists and others who work in the medical field – so opportunities to get advice. Members of the group are super supportive with cards and contact, getting meals to those in need.
My god son’s basketball team has made it to the state semi-finals! It has been such an exciting and intense time. It has been nice to share this with my best friend.
Dad and Becky both had a pretty intense bug last week – likely Noro virus. But – both seem to be regaining strength. My dad’s sister is due in town tomorrow night for a visit.
School rolls along – March is such a long month as our spring break is not until Good Friday and the following week.
