Today’s Reflection
Getting back up after a fall isn’t just a matter of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps,” as the cliché goes. It involves the support of others.
—William P. Brown, Sacred Tension: Embracing Dissonance and Dialogue in the Old Testament (Upper Room Books, 2025)

Something More
What if the contradictions within the Old Testament were not problems to be resolved but instead were essential to its deepest meaning? In Sacred Tension, biblical scholar William P. Brown invites us to consider the Old Testament as a wide-ranging dialogue in conversation with itself and with us. Now available here.

Yes, there have been some tough situations, but God has given me a never give up spirit. In the very toughest situation I’ve faced I turned to God and that made all the difference. Thank You, Liord.
It has only been my faith in God that has gotten me through – that continues to be the case every day. Peace to all this day.
I echo Lou’s words. I would not be here if it weren’t for the Lord. He has brought me through some very difficult circumstances and situations.
I reflect on the ones who stayed very close during my mom’s struggle. One person who entered my life at that time – I no longer speak to. Truly just in my life for a season. I think of her occasionally. It would be nice to know how she and her family are doing. I think of my best friend…32 years now…truly thru thick and thin. I can remember when she asked me to be the “god mother” to her children. 15+ years ago – it was a bit scary. But I couldn’t say no to her, to them. Now – my god daughter is getting married in July and my god son’s senior year is quickly passing.
What a busy week at school and with other things. Nothing left after school ended today. I came home, retreated to my couch and took a nap. Hope I can fall asleep tonight. I think about last Friday night – driving in the snow to pick up my best friend at the airport. Today – 80 degrees and all my windows and doors are still open now that it is dark. The sun this week has been phenomenal.
My god son’s basketball team plays in the state semi-finals Sunday evening. Luckily – only about 20 minutes away. The competition will be stiff. We will see if this ride has one more stop in it.
