Today’s Reflection
GOD’S GRACE flows both ways, doesn’t it? Just when we think we’re extending it to someone, we discover that it’s coming right back at us multiplied, amplified, and revealing more and more about ourselves, other people, and about what God is doing in the world. God reveals extraordinary grace and goodness in and through our relationships.
—Rebecca Dwight Bruff, Loving the World with God: Fourth Day Living (Upper Room Books, 2014)
Today’s Question
When have you been surprised to find God’s grace flowing both ways? Share your thoughts.
Today’s Scripture
“May grace and peace be yours in abundance in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.”
—2 Peter 1:2 (NRSV)
Prayer for the Week
Grant us, Lord God, a vision of your world as your love would have it:
a world where the weak are protected, and none go hungry or poor;
a world where the riches of creation are shared, and everyone can enjoy them;
a world where different races and cultures live in harmony and mutual respect;
a world where peace is built with justice, and justice is guided by love.
Give us the inspiration and courage to build it, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

This is such a true principle. In God’s economy – what we selflessly give away…time, money, availability – he multiplies back to us. Father – help me to know what You would have me to do.
It was good to be with family yesterday. There were 30 people gathered at my sister’s house…mom’s side of the family and my sister’s husbands side of the family, along with dad’s sister, daughter and her husband. Dad’s voice cracked when he gathered us all to pray before the meal, as we all stood holding hands. But, otherwise, I think he was ok. Another thing that must be lived into, I suppose. I hope he was all right going home last evening. He dropped me off and then went on his way.
Looking forward to another day at home today…will not be leaving the house. Much more school work to accomplish.
May you accomplish much of your school work, Jill!
Have a fruitful weekend!
Most recently God’s grace went both ways delivering Thanksgiving meals to a school, but I have also felt it on mission trips and many other times where God asked me to go to help. Thank You, Lord.
The roofers are here and the old roof is being removed. Wonderful weather.
Thank You, Lord.
Thanksgiving was a surprise, didn’t eat at the restaurant where we had reservations, too crowded, map up a new plan and had a very different but wonderful menu. Thank You, Lord.
Hope you all had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.
Glad to hear that you have wonderful weather when removing your roof.
May Erich have a good and suitable job soon.
I have experienced the recipricocity Of God’s grace here. I have read accounts of it, witnessed it and received and given this gift.
Enjoyed dinner with family yesterday. We see them only at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Amazing how easily everytime it is so familiar and easy, as if we see one another regularly. My one cousin’s wife, Megan and I are all extreme cat people and we spent the day sharing photos, stories and the love we have for our furry babies.
Prayers for Jill and Larry and Roger, may Larry have a joy filled holiday season and may Jill and Roger enjoy another quiet day together.
Prayers for Robert and his family, who alllowed for altered plans and were rewarded with a new and enriching opportunity.
Prayers and thank you UR
