New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

WE ARE CALLED by God to live this life with love for everyone. All that we do can be an expression of God’s love. However mundane the task, perform it with a generous spirit and grateful heart. The most insignificant task performed with love is  tribute to God, and every act of charity or service done for self-gain or with hate—or worse, indifference—is a hollow offering to God.

A generous and grateful heart is aware of the blessedness one has been bestowed. And, in turn, seeks to bless others as well as help them become aware of what living a life out of gratitude and generosity looks like.
I was struck by the line regarding indifference. There was a time, which I regret deeply, when I “suffered” my mom and my interactions were laced with indifference. It was a tumultuous time for our relationship, and I was very stubborn. Thankfully, God brought me out of myself – and things were much better for many of her final years.
Julie – I am sorry to hear about your new wounds. But so glad to hear your gratitude for the time of respite early on in the winter which you have had. Come on Spring and warm weather!
I finally contacted my doctor yesterday and the wheels are in motion trying to get my insurance to approve a different treatment. I am fairly confident it will be approved, but still reluctant to switch…something I must trust to my Heavenly Father. I continue to work on this,

Had to go back a few days and read posts. If I’m the first one to post, I miss a lot! Prayers for Julie’s hands and foot, thankful that here has been relief for much of the winter. March, in like a lion, out like a lamb, will soon be here. Further south flocks of robbins have been seen! Hope Jill’s insurance covers a different and helpful treatment, prayers for Lou’s health and heart. Good news from Rick as he starts classes, Darr, also hope you can have your own home.

Had a nice day yesterday, breakfast with church friends, the beginnings of a replacement car search, a nice lunch, and a beautiful drive on a sunny chilly winter day. Some helpful solutions in the wind. A few more days and one should be working.

Prayers for Mary’s mission trip and Marcy’s health and well-being. Connie, Andrea, Betsy, April, Edy, and Rusty are in my prayers too. Thank You, Lord.

Some church cleaning this morning. Have a blessed day and weekend.

This is a wonderful thought. I was recognizing how hopeless and helpless I feel of late. I find little in life worthy of joy. So any change in attitude towards my daily tasks could help my soul and hopefully ripple out to others.
H left this morning and went to his “friends” with a large manilla envelope. My heart and mind immediately start racing to all sorts of catastrophic possibilities. They are the main drivers of h’s desire for divorce, they want h’s money for themselves.
Prayers for Jill, for her courage to try a new treatment, for insurance approval and for success that results in better health.
Prayers for Robert, may he find success with his “helpful solutions” and may his church activities be successful as well.
Prayers for April as she expands her Bible study and other practices, may she grow closer to the Lord.
Prayers for Rick and his tumultous schedule, may he do well and school and find time for joy and recharging.
Prayers for Mary, may she be safe in Indonesia and may her mission work bring praise and glory to the Lord.
Prayers for Marcy, may she be well and receiving her services once again.
Prayers for Andrea and her grandson, may both have better health.
Prayers for Lou’s back and heart, may both have less pain.
    Prayers and thank you UR

How can a generous and grateful heart transform the mundane tasks in your day? I find it by being mindful of those around me and aware of the needs of others. In a hurried and fast past life, I at times get overwhelmed. It is in those moments I feel an inner voice saying slow down, look around you. What is in front of me? Who needs God’s love, a kind word or someone to be present for them? Some days it’s just the slowing down and feeling the presence of the Holy Spirt; perhaps just breathing. It may be I see a smile or a glimpse of something bigger. Other times it may be that I need to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I too was also struck by the word indifference. I have had times in my life where I experienced much indifference. AA was an amazing blessing in my life and helped me work though my selfish, self centered, and egotistical thinking… I’m grateful for a loving and supportive church family as well as my AA home group.
Prayers for you Jill, that your insurance will cover your new treatment and that you will feel more guided to try it.
Prayers for Robert, that Erich will be working soon. May you be Blessed and thank you for the reminders of Spring in New England.
Prayers for Julie, praying you find Joy and Hope in this difficult time your are experiencing. You are a Blessing and Brighten and Bless us with your presence here.
Continued Prayers for April, Mary, Andrea and her grandson, Lou, Connie, Andrea and all those in need of Gods abundant Grace and Mercy.
