New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Sometimes the resistance of our heart to another person melts away suddenly and surprisingly because a whole new picture of the situation that caused our hurt has emerged. There is so much we do not see and cannot know about those who wound us, even in our families. It is one reason we need to find ways to tell our deep stories and to hear one another’s deep stories. It also reveals why we do well to leave judgment to the searcher of all hearts, who comprehends the internal as well as external realities of each situation.

As the song goes “I’ve looked at life from both sides now.” Neither side has the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Somewhere in between a truthful core lies. Getting to the core and eliminating the untruths is the task at hand. I’m thankful that CBT may very well lead to that goal. I’m focused on doing what I can fit as long as I can to fulfill a wish for a single family home.
Much needed rain came yesterday and continues as a slow soaker most of this morning. Some signs of turning leaves. There are three of us taking the Lay Servant course, another member has completed it and an advanced course. CCUMC is moving forward. A new worship leader joins the effort to continue worship services. Prayers for care givers Julie, April, Ally&David. Travel mercies for Jill and family..
God is with us always, thank You, Lord.

I wish I could do this with h, but I know he is incapable of self reflection and also of admitting errors.
I do not intend to return h’s phone to him. He continued to have contact with the scammers and I feel his safety is at stake. The safety of his finacial well being. I will be vilified by him and I am not looking forward to the reaction. I have devised a scenario that puts the onus on others for the loss. But I will receive the brunt of the anger.
Prayers for Ally and David, may David continue improving and may Ally be given what she needs to get through today. Prayers for Robert and the others from his church as they attend the lay leader certification training.
