New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

The first step of Centering Prayer is to choose a sacred word that will become the focus of our time with God. . . . During prayer, when we begin to feel pulled off-center by worries or distractions, the sacred word will gently guide us back. . . . Any word that draws our attention to God is suitable . . . Abba, Jesus, Emmanuel, Holy Spirit, Creator, faith, love, hope, trust, calm, silence, or shalom.

Prayer for the Week

Gracious God
whose love encircles all,
You are the one in whom I live
and move and have my being.
Thank you for the moments
when I see you most clearly.
I am sorry for the times I have turned away
from your loving presence.
With hope I look toward the new day to come,
heart aflame with your love and grace.
I am grateful that you are with me
every moment of every day.
Amen.

Keeping silent before God acknowledges that God is supreme, the Almighty, the Creator and that I know my existence comes God. Thank You, Lord for the gift of life. Prayers that EVERYONE, friend and foe and in between, will accept You, Your teaching, and become the hnds and feet that helps bring Your kingdom heree on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I have been quiet before the Lord in the past and felt calm and centered. I need to incorporate the practice into my daily routine again.
