New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Jesus comes to proclaim that we are God’s beloved children, that what the government says we are doesn’t matter, that what the powers and principalities want us to believe doesn’t matter, that our brokenness doesn’t matter. We are God’s beloved children, and this is what matters. We are commended to live as if we know how deeply we are loved. Anxiety and worry are not our inheritance.

—Jane Herring, One Day I Wrote Back: Interacting with Scripture Through Creative Writing (Upper Room Books, 2015)

Today’s Scripture

See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God, and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
—1 John 3:1 (NRSVUE)

Faith in scripture that tells me I am loved, a child of God, baptism and communion, the gifts of the Spirit, and then the fellowship of like minded believers all proclaim and confirm that I am deeply loved. Thank You, Lord.
Recovered from my long travel day on Friday. No idea how truck and bus drivers do what I did on a daily basis. Of course at my age I’m prone to get tired a lot easier. Still I’m thankful that I can do this trip now and then. Thank You, Lord, for a safe trip.
Church today and nice weather. Very thankful for an unexpected quite large check due to a change in my mortgage payment.

I know that I am loved because I sense it, deep within. I can look back over my life and see traces of His goodness and faithfulness. The Word is full of His promises and I claim them and cling to them. Thank You, Almighty God.
Very much looking forward to worship this morning. My god son has been coming with his mom – to church – a new church for him. He really likes it. It is good to be with them each week.

Sometimes I hear a good worship song and I am filled with the Spirit and I know that I am not alone and that I am loved and that God’s love is all I need – reading scripture, worship, hearing your testimonies above – all remind me of the power of God’s love –
Praying for all here today – another beautiful beautiful day. Thankful for all of you and the faith expressed here.
