New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

The PEN reminds us of the importance of capturing stories, truth, and wisdom on paper. . . .

Write down our thoughts—whatever they are. Each day write about a time, place, or relationship where you felt God’s presence or absence.

—Kara Lassen Oliver, Passing It On: How to Nurture Your Children’s Faith Season by Season (Upper Room Books, 2015)

Today’s Question

If you choose to write down a story about feeling God’s presence, who could you share that with today?

Today’s Scripture

Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: Write in a book all the words that I have spoken to you.
—Jeremiah 30:2 (NRSV)

Perhaps not to the letter of today’s instructions, but somewhat close are my comments here with NEM. Recent changes in our economy, the war in Ukraine, rising costs and interest rates, and the housing market are making things tough for a move to the Poconos. Haven’t given up, we’re juggling the situation for a way forward. Thankful we have a roof over our heads.. God is with us always . What will happen is a big ? Need to review posts. Perhaps I should wait until later in the day and give you all a chance. My early morning routine is hard to change. Hopefully I don’t forget and post again in a little while. Thank You, Lord.

Yes, I agree with Robert, this sharing of our thoughts here is most definitely an example of that described by the author of the exerpt above.
I have physical therapy today. I do the many exercises they have given me to do at home religiously because I am anxious to walk and go down steps mormally again. The kittens “help” me as I do the floor exercises and even sometimes the sitting ones.
Prayers for Ally as she continues to try to provide for her and David by appealing her disability claim and part time work from home jobs. Prayers for April, for mental, emotional and physical fortitude. Prayers for Jill and her students as they prepare for and take the end of year tests. Prayers for Lou as she helps her son move and visits her daughter. Prayers for Rick and his husband as they enjoy their return to ther home. Prayers for Robert as he struggles with a decision as to whether this is the appropriate time to move given the current economy.

Oh Julie, you are spot in for what I need!! Thank you all for your prayers for us.
Just the other day I prayed, “Lord Jesus Christ, please give me peace “ over and over as I looked outside at the blue sky, white clouds, and green leaves on the trees. Shortly I had this feeling of peace that I can’t describe..it just was wonderful. I read devotional and my usual sites, even though I can’t tell you what I just read, I know that God sees me and I know that I am never alone.
You are all in my prayers..blessing.

Yes, indeed, we share here – and it is good and God is honored. I don’t know that if I wrote about sensing God’s presence – that it would be with the intent to share it with another. But it would be wonderful to reference back to, and possibly share with someone struggling to sense His presence.
This makes me think about journaling and my utter inconsistency with it.
Continuing to wind things down at school. All of my posters are down in my classroom and cabinets are being cleaned out. Underclassmen exams begin tomorrow.
Tennis last night was frustrating and disappointing. My new partner and I took our first “L”, neither of us able to pick the other up as we were both under-performing. Due to the holiday, my next match is in a week.

I’m not sure with whom I would share. like Robert and Julie, sharing my thoughts with our NEM family is where I am right now. Should the Holy Spirit prompt me to share with someone else, I would try to do it. Something to pray about. I have journaled daily in the past. It is therapeutic and has helped me sort out problems. I need to take it up again.
My work from home gig starts June 6. I look forward to this because it will ease our financial situation and I think having meaningful work and a routine will help me feel better about the world. David and I both have scheduled Dr. appointments in next 2 weeks. Mine is on to-do list requested by my attorney. Thanks to my friends here for your prayers for us!
Robert, prayers that things Happen in God’s time. Praying with you for a way forward.
Julie, prayers that your physical therapy will help you meet your goal of negotiating stairs and improve your overall mobility. Nothing like kitty help. What would we do without them! Jill, prayers for you as you finish up your school year and have a needed breakBJ, and MRyPrayers for safety for you and all teachers and students. May God keep you in His care. Lou, prayers for traveling mercies for your trip to see your daughter. April, prayers for you as you care for your loved one, that God will give you what you need. Prayers for those who we have been missing, such as Marcy, BJ, and Mary. Prayers for all those who visit. Prayers for victims of gun violence. May God work in our hearts to motivate us to work for change. Prayers for the cause of freedom and democracy, for human rights; for all persons to meet our God, who knows us by name and wants a relationship with us. Blessings, my friends.
