New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

The Christ child—hope incarnate—is the center of our corporate hope, the trust that this year, in this time and place, we will be transformed by hope. Hope opens closed hearts to love and forgiveness. Hope opens stagnant institutions to new possibilities for justice and restoration. Hope opens the barred doors of hatred and violence and allows new growth in barren war zones.

We, children of God, children of hope, open our lives, relationships, communities, and countries to the transformation that comes from hope. Come, Christ; come, life; come, hope.

—Beth A. Richardson, The Uncluttered Heart: Making Room for God During Advent and Christmas (Upper Room Books, 2009)

Every time I have a glimmer of hope my something comes along to dash it. Since I spoke to my lawyer a couple of weeks ago she has been telling me to do things according to the settleement we discussed then. This involves me receiving half of h’s retirement fund. Then out of the blue yesterday, mind you after giving me another list of things to do based on this assumption, she then reprimanded me for assuming I would get that money. She told me I have no guarantee, which I get, but thaen she continued with I should assume I get nothing! I felt gobsmacked! Megan said she is hedging her bet but she actually reprimanded me!
Prayers for Ally andd that her washing machine was repaired and the bill was minimal. Prayers for safe travel for her and David and may Jeremy do well at the vet. Prayers for safe travel for Jill and may Roger do well while she is away. Prayers for Robert’s safe travel and for all to remain safe while he visits his famiily. Prayers for Marti and her staff. Merry Christmas to all who visit here. Thank you for your prayers and may God bless all who visit here.

Hope has indeed transformed my life…and with it the peace which passeth all understanding. I am no longer who I used to be. I am a grateful child of the King. My hope is based on His promises, His love and the eternal home He is preparing for me.
Well, I spoke too soon yesterday, regarding Roger’s draws. I was unable to get another out of him. He was hissing and generally miserable. So – I only had four draws and there should have been six or seven. But, the numbers remain high, so I don’t know that more draws were necessary. His dosage has been upped again. Also, wishful thinking regarding my Shingrix booster. I felt lousy in the evening and just went to bed. Slept poorly. Feeling somewhat better this morning, been drinking a lot of water.
Plans still up in the air for this evening – not sure if I will meet my friend and her family at their church or just see her when I drop off Roger. She is with her family at her mom’s this morning.
Dad stopped by. He is emotional, missing mom. Lots of memories. I am not sure how to comfort him, other than to just listen.
A Merry Christmas to all who stop by here…may the Christ Child bring each of you hope.

Hope makes getting up after falling down, restarts, progress possible/ Safely mad it to Deerfield MA. Having a good time with Willa and Oona, my daughter and family friends. Winter weather advisory for Saturday. No travel needed that day.
Tough going Julie with the divorce, with no experience I can only recommend plan for the worst and hope for the best. Know too that God is with you. God is the ultimate hope.
Prayers of thanks for a check that appeared out of no where. It’s legit and in the bank.
Prayers for Ally&David’s washing machine repairs, safe travel, approved disability help, and continued progress for Jeremy. Hoping for good results for Roger and Jill’s safe travel.
    Merry Christmas!
