New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Those early apostles in the upper room hunkered down in fear, trying to figure their way out of their predicament. They drew straws (so to speak), probably had some meetings, and advocated for their particular strategies. . . . Then, in blew the Holy Spirit, God’s life-giving breath, unhindered by the closed shutters and with a love so fierce that it opened their hearts to tenderness and compassion. It was so transformative that fear did not have power over them anymore.

This is the transformation that is called for today, a stepping into the unknown, trusting in a divine tenderness that can hold us, even in our fear. God calls us to journey from our heads into our hearts, listening for that deeper wisdom that can guide us through all the valleys of death.

I know that I need to do a better job of just being still and silent in God’s presence. i am always on the move and my thoughts are always racing.
Prayers for Ally and her upcoming doctor’s appointment and change in meds due to A fib. I have to take Eliquis for six weeks after the surgery due to an AT3 deficiency (my blood clots too easily). Prayers for Roger to respond to the insulin and for his health to improve. Prayers for Jill’s review process to proceed with no issues and result in a positive review. Prayers for God to guide Robert regarding another move and may God a new pastor to Robert’s church community. Prayers for Marti and her staff. Thank you for your prayers and may God bless all who visit here.

Fuller stillness, of mind and heart, centering on Him, being quiet and listening. Consistent immersion in His Word is also essential.
Well, the day came and went without the administrator coming to my class. Our administrative team is so busy trying to curtail fighting and other disruptive behavior that they are unable to put a priority on instruction. I am frustrated that I poured so much time into documentation and preparation for this specific lesson, so I could “dance the dance” required – and the recital never happened. I am growing more irritated because I haven’t received an email regarding this. I need to let this go.
I have to take Roger in to the vet early tomorrow morning and he will be monitored for 12 hours, as they take a “curve” of his levels. He wasn’t as hungry today, and looked like he had a gagging, heaving spell. No vomit, but some dried mucus on his blanket where he was lying when I left him this morning. I dread the struggle of getting him in the carrier tomorrow morning.
My friend – her dog was ill today – and she had to take him to the vet. We were planning on getting together after school, but cancelled. I welcomed the opportunity to come home, after such a long day yesterday.
Dad arrived safely in Florida, a bit late, but safe and sound. He and my brother in law enjoyed free lunch at a restaurant and they are going to the Space Center tomorrow – free for veterans.
Robert – thank you for your sacrificial service.

What can help? Practice! It’s like anything else; especially for new believers. When you’re busy running around, you have to make a conscious effort to stop and listen for the guidance of the spirit. This is not natural. This is supernatural. Ask, “What do I do now.” Then you listen and have lots of patience.
