New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Throughout the New Testament, Jesus juxtaposes his exterior life—his ministry and service to others, his relationships with his disciples—and his interior one. This explains why Paul, in writing some of the first letters to Jesus’ followers, asks them to pray without ceasing (see Thessalonians 5:17) and to be in prayer about everything (see Philippians 4:6). Prayer—or talking with God silently or aloud—about a topic (thanksgiving, praise, confession, supplication, and intercession) is crucial to our understanding of the historical Jesus, Jesus as the Messiah, the Trinity, and the subsequent development of the early church. Prayer provides the cornerstone of the Christian faith.

I have been in the hospital. My kidneys were failing due to severe dehydration. While being treated I retained the fluids they were administering via IV. I am swollen and sore. My kidneys are still recovering but the numbers were improving so I was discharged last night. I need to catch up.

Oh Julie, praying for your kidneys to continue to heal and for restoration of your health. Sending much love

Take good care, gad to read you are improving. One step at a time, recovery gets all the attention.

To me, prayer is a conversation with God. Meditation is reflection on God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and scripture. Thankful for a good visit to the dentist, worship planning progress, preparations for the condo association annual meeting, and a quiet day. Peace and consolation to Julie, you have , as they say, a lot on your plate. God will bring you through this tough time. Hope there is progress on Larry’s condo sale, safety at Jill’s school, continued improvement for Roger and Jeremy. Improved health, well-being, and peace to Ally&David. Thank You, Lord.
