New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

The point of the Resurrection is not that Jesus has gone to heaven and if we stay faithful for the rest of our lives, we will see him there after we die. The promise is not simply a new life that awaits us after death but a new life that begins right now, and death can never defeat it. We live now in ways that bear witness to the way this world will be when God’s kingdom comes and God’s will is done on earth as it is already done in heaven. In the aftermath of the Easter earthquake, we live now in the power of the risen Christ.

—James A. Harnish, Easter Earthquake: How Resurrection Shakes Our World (Upper Room Books, 2017)

Today’s Question

Today’s Scripture

Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Obviously, I am to share God’s love with others, as that is the word of the Bible and Jesus. I do this by saying that I will pray for others. This shows my love and care for humanity as well as God’s love and the essence of being a Christian, both prayers and doing for others. Loving others as myself.

What good news and yet challenging news – we are to be living each day – bearing witness of what things will be like in our eternal home. We are to be positive, hopeful, life-giving. We are to live out our faith, our claiming of His sufficient Blood, our trust in His sovereignty. A daily call to pick up our cross and obey, no matter what the cost. Father – enable us and walk with us.
Lovely, warm weather – the breeze is even warm – a delight. I will definitely take a walk after dinner. Things are winding down at school and I am checking things off my list. Bid adieu to my students today – even though it is good to be back – this break comes at the right moment. Upon return, we can push through to the end.
Dad continues to soak up the warmth of 90 degree weather – and is anxious for me to arrive. It will be good for him to have both of his girls together with him for a week +.
Stopped by the library to pick up a book for leisurely reading. I also have the top 2 off of my stack I have been amassing at home.
As we ponder the sacrifice of our Saviour, may we be still before the Cross.

Hello all, I have missed being with you. I am more of a “let others see what I’m about” person. I try to make my life a an example of Christ. If someone asks, i share about my faith. I try to stand up for those on the “fringes”. Being human, I sometimes fail. Perhaps too often. I’m thankful for God’s grace.
David is making great progress in therapy. We praise God. Kitty Lewis is eating better and is less shortly, more active. I can tell he feels better because he skips around a little and when he eats, he rakes the kibble out of the bowl to eat it off the floor. No idea why he does this. 5 days post 1st vaccine dose, I feel more like !myself. I wonder what it will be like after 2nd dose. I dread it a little, but am thankful to receive it. We are struggling a little finance-wise. We covet your prayers.
Prayers for Robert and Erich as they journey through counseling together. Julie, thanks so much for your prayers for us. Know that we lift you up as well. Thursday will be a year since David was admitted to hospital with Covid. It has been a journey for sure. Jill, I pray for sage travel for you and that you enjoy your time together. Enjoy your break and hope you have plenty of time to read. Prayers for April and Lou, their families, and their spiritual journeys. Blessings to all.
