Today’s Reflection
Although the Bible often offers us inspiration and comfort, it also gives us a glimpse into the loneliness and suffering of others. The Bible contains many examples of great figures of faith expressing their feelings of dissatisfaction with pain and suffering and confessing how they feel alone in despair. But none of these examples is more powerful than Jesus’ words on the cross.
—John R. Wimmer, Blessed Endurance: Moving Beyond Despair to Hope (Upper Room Books, 2018)

Today’s Scripture
He was wounded for our transgressions,
crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the punishment that made us whole,
and by his bruises we are healed.

Jesus knew pain and agony most of us, thankfully, will never experience, AND Jesus rose from the dead, was seen by many on earth, was seen as He rose to heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God, the Father, to intercede for us. Messiah, Redeemer, Savior, Prince of Peace, King of Kings.
Thank You, Lord.
Praise be to God. amen

I am iin awe of how he was able to withstand the torture he was put through.
I had an appointment with my gastroenterologist yesterday. Mostly all he did was yell at me. I am extremely thin. I wanted to ask him how he thought he would look after a month of not eating. He wants an upper GI test done, but they are unable to find an appointment. I am thinking of going back to the hospital.
Prayers for everyone.
Jesus knows human discomfort, on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual fronts. In the face of those things – He was honest, pleading to be spared. But – ultimately, He was obedient – surrendering perfectly to the Father’s will. Yes, we are hard pressed, seemingly on every side – but we are not overcome. We must keep our eyes Heavenward – knowing these “momentary” afflictions cannot compare to eternity with Him, in perpetual praise.
Teachers have a bit of a bounce in our step, buoyed by our surprise cold day yesterday. Here today for a “one and done”, heading into the weekend.
My god son’s game this evening and then to finally see my god daughter’s college game in person tomorrow. Not sure if she will play, but going to go in hopes she does. I have invited dad to tag along, as he needs something to do.
Bitter cold here this weekend. Robert – many prayers for safety to those in the Northeast. It sounds potentially devastating. Do take great care.
