New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Let your prayerful imagination feed and be fed by the stories of our shared family, the children of God. Let their stories read you and remind you of the hope and mercy that God has for you, even in the valley of shadows and on the mountaintop.

Take your share in their sorrows, struggles, and joy, and let them lead you always back to the kernel of love that was complete from before the beginning of Creation. Whoever you were made to be, however you became the person reading this book, God delights in every detail of you and loves you without end.

As an adult, the preacher at my mother’s church (where I grew up and was baptized), invited me to speak from the pulpit (others were also invited) on the occasion of the church’s homecoming. On this particular Sunday I was a guest and was visiting my mother. I opened with the KJV, “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go to the house of the Lord.” The preacher thanked me and said my words were exactly right. I remember my childhood at this church vividly. I pray for the peace of my hometown, where I live now, and Atlanta, the big city nearby.

This is not something I ever thought of, to find myself in a family in the Bible. Perhaps Mary and Martha, as in I would be the type to try to do too much in order to please the Lord. But of course my sibling would be praised for simply sitting and listening to the visitor.
Once again h has flip flopped on selling his vehicle. I am going to pursue the sale without him. I know I can request a replacement title. I just need to determine whether I can use the power of attorney to sign it over to a buyer.
How wonderful to have two new posters in as many days. Welcome to our tiny chosen family.

The first family I thought of was the family where Jesus revives Tabitha. While my family has not had a similar experience, that story came to mind. So thankful this morning, air removed from the heating/hot water system and all is good. No new hot water needed, $2500 saved!
Thank You, Lord Yes, wonderful for new posts from new posters. Another blessing.
Hope the car sale goes through without a lot of hassle. Plans for Communion Sunday meeting a snag, may have to change to the following Sunday
It’s been a wonderful morning. Just amazing. Very thankful.
