New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

The good news is you can start small. Take baby steps as you practice being still. Sit outside and watch the birds for five minutes. Use an app such as calm.com for two minutes. Write one paragraph in your journal. Try praying. Turn the radio off when you’re in the car.

Today’s Scripture

A great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
—1 Kings 19:11-12 (NIV)

Prayer for the Week

God of light, help me to speak my truth. Show me how to be still so that I may hear your gentle whisper. In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who has the power to heal me. Amen.

Sit down, fold my arms in my lap and close my eyes.
For my son, a long awaited day has arrived, new rims and tires for the car. We’re up and ready to head to the garage to have them installed. Thank You, Lord.
Yesterday was another great day, Book/Bible study on a passage from Mark. then a visit to the Fryeburg Fair, had a good time, a barbershop quartet sang to and with my friend Russ, then a baseball playoff win, will work together with the pastor and treasurer filling out reports for church conference. Thank You, Lord for all these blessings.
