Today’s Reflection
The Bible functions as a spiritual mirror; it can show us what we present to the world in a spiritual sense. It can help us discern how to better love ourselves and show us where we need to make changes by bringing into focus our behaviors. When we look at our spiritual reflection, we get to know ourselves better. James urges us not to forget what we see in our spiritual mirror but to walk away changed and ready to adjust as needed.

Today’s Scripture
Those who hear but don’t do the word are like those who look at their faces in a mirror. They look at themselves, walk away, and immediately forget what they were like.
—James 1:23-24 (CEB)

I’m in the valley plodding along, thankful for resources that enable life physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Thank You, Lord. Prayers for the safety, health, well-being of all the UR family and beyond.
Have a blessed weekend.
I’m being held and led by Him. And the depth of serenity of this humbles me. I treasure wading through The Psalms. My small group is studying David – from his win over Goliath and on through 1 Samuel and into 2 Samuel. It will be good to dig into this text, as I am woefully under-studied in most of the Old Testament.
Yesterday, at school, with incredibly efficient technology, went very well. I tried something new with my seniors which was techy and outside of my comfort zone – and it went fairly well over all. Some of my students also have very weak internet at their homes and I can see this will be a challenge.
My tennis team is having its end to the summer season party this afternoon. Hoping the weather holds as we have a pontoon boat ride planned after an early dinner.
I see a follower who would love to follow in a deeper and more visible sense. But in the current world situation and with past experiences in mind, this follower is too afraid to venture into new territory. If this current health pandemic ever becomes less of a threat, I will have to overcome the reluctance within me and try to find someone who would welcome my efforts to aid their nonprofit or other humanitarian endeavor.
Prayers for Jill and her tennis team, may they enjoy a warm and rain free time together celebrating.
Prayers for Robert and may God continue to provide for his needs.
Grocery shopping today for me. I am having trouble warming to the new kittens. I need to spend so much time stopping them from doing things and disciplining them that I only see them as a burden. Hopefully as they grow and calm down this will change. I have many kittens throughout my life but these two seem especially incorrigible.
Prayers, thank you and stay well dear UR
