New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Humility is not pretending to think less of ourselves but thinking more of others. Relating to people with reverent humility means that we value them as one-of-a-kind creations whose ordinary human lives contain something of the extraordinary image of God — even the people who are most difficult. Reverent humility enables us to listen.

Today’s Scripture

As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.

Pay attention to the words and actions of everyone, and especially those with whom we are hasving issues. Glimpses, hints of Father, Son and Holy Spirit appear despite many words and actions that seem seem, are, contrary to my understanding. How things wull turn around I do not know, Jesus forgave those who physically killed Him, Told us to love our neighbor as ourselves, and to love our enemies. Most certainly the opportunity to do so is more before us than it has ever been in my lifetime. Love conquers all. Thank You, Lord.

Tomorrow I will establish boundaries with the person who has been unkind to me. Having boundaries is new for me and is something I am learning about through therapy. But this person is saying things that aren’t true about me and trying to undermine me and my recovery. Please pray for me to have courage.
