Today’s Reflection
The presence of faith practices is more important than the perfection of faith practices. Levels of stress, commitments, and family needs ebb and flow, and you can adjust accordingly. When you prioritize your faith practices, you build an important foundation for leading well.

My faith practices are pretty much essential. My time in the morning is pretty much cemented in place…yes there are a few times when it does not happen – but these are irregularities. Meeting with my small group is surely a priority, but did have to take the backseat to my god daughter’s high school basketball games this past year. It was surprising to me that a Christian school would have games on Wednesday evenings, but they were league games and they were the only Christian school in the league.
Prayers for our country this holiday weekend. May God continue to watch over us, and may we be wise in our independence, our freedoms, our responsibilities. I pray that people will choose wisely as they gather together, may more be intentional about precautions for themselves and others.
Very warm temperatures continue here, but the mugginess has not kicked in…yet. I don’t know that it will remain at bay much longer.
Good day to you, New Every Morning family and friends. The very first thing I do upon waking each morning is say prayers. They differ from day to day, for both myself and others. It is an essential first step, before I even have my morning coffee. After coffee, I pray some more. Then I sing worship hymn and songs usually four or five of them each day. I start my Bible devotionals and studies after that. It makes the day get better and better with each step.
Having said that, I have had an exceptionally challenging week with PT and pain. The doctor and the therapist are not on the same page. The therapist seems to think I am going for strength training, whereas the doctor wants a slow and therapeutic approach. I have injuries to joints that don’t allow for certain range of motion. I’ll be speaking to a different therapist today. What good is it if I can’t even get in my morning walk with the walker? I did so well on Monday!
There are so many who are hurting and struggling! I am spending as much time as possible praying for individuals, groups and the general well-being of our sisters and brothers in Christ, the citizenry and our leaders. It is hard to know where to begin and where to end! Intercessory prayer requires naming as many as possible. Our Father knows I am doing my utmost. I pray for myself last, but have learned not to neglect these important prayers, small as they may be.
Julie, I will try to get in touch this morning. Meanwhile, you and Megan, Chai and Tazzie are in my prayers! Thank you for that beautiful picture of your kitties! Jill, you and your father remain in my prayers. Lou, I am praying for you and your family. Robert, it is good to see you here every day again, and you and your loved ones are in my prayers always. I am praying for Ally and David, Rick and his husband, Andrea and her family, BJ, Connie, Mary, Betsy, Francesca , Rusty and K and all who visit here today. I pray all the old regulars are well. I pray all newcomers feel welcomed!
Prayers also for all of this family’s kitties. So many of us are blessed with these sweet little animals! Prayers for the pets of all! May they all be safe and well and happy!
May you all have a blessed and safe holiday weekend. Travel mercies being prayed for all who are traveling or having family in. Please be mindful of the virus; it hasn’t gone anywhere.
And these three remain: Faith, Hope and Love; and the greatest of these is LOVE! Sending Love and prayers anchored in God’s Love to all!

I spend time with UR daily devotionals and emails daily and also read the reference Bible verses and comments in my study Bible. These are very important to me and are rarely usurped by anything.
Marcy, I am glad you enjoyed the note and picture. Mornings are busy for me also but I know afternoons are hard for you so I will try to find a time this morning to get back with you. You are always in my heart and prayers and I think of you often. May you and Lucy Lou be well.
Prayers for Jill and Larry as the weather warms even more and the humidity descends this weekend. May they stay safe when indulging in golf and other activities.
Prayers for Robert and his serenity through the pandemic and his contentment while sheltering at home. May all of the US emulate him especially this weekend.
Prayers for Ally and David as they travel, may they remain safe and grow strong among their loved ones.
Prayers for April and her family, may they enjoy the beauty of the gardens she has lovingly attended.
Prayers for Lou and her family as they celebrate together, may they be safe and remain healthy.
Prayers, thank you and stay safe and healthy dear UR one and all
I am sliding a bit on my usual Quiet Time. Woke up at 1:30 AM and watched many PBS Masterpiece Mystery episodes of Grantchester. Have now given up hope that Sidney and Amanda will be together.
It appears that Sidney is off to America and a new vicar will come to Grantchester. Also sad to see an Anglican priest smoke and drink so much.
I too pray for others before myself, besides New Every Morning, I partticipate in weekly Bible study and worship. Need to buy bread and grape juice for virtual communion this week. The first communion since before the pandemic.
Sad news that two relatives on Soo Ok’s mother’s side of the family passed away. Have the obituary and a ZOOM video for her uncle Eddie, more news coming about a cousin. Know little of Soo Ok’s Dad except thee basics. No other relatives, contacts since he died in the Korean War. Face Time with my daughter at 5 pm today.
Had a nap and need something to eat, A little out of kilter at the moment, but did ZOOM breakfast with the pastor this. morning.
It’s my opinion, but I think the US us quite off course in dealing with the pandemic. If you aren’t white, you suffer disproportionally living here. A lot of much needed reform is hopefully God directed and peacefully on the way. If there was ever a time the US needed God’s wisdom it is now.
May the One who keeps you from falling, and picks you up when you do fall, be with every one here and in the world now and always.May we, as believers, truly be the hands and feet of Christ our Lord and Savior, that God’s will is done here on earth as it is in heaven. Thank You, Lord.
