Today’s Reflection
The destruction of the environment cries out for urgent repentance and conversion. We are beckoned to rediscover a biblical vision and a new understanding of ourselves and God’s creation. The only future foreshadowed by the present crises, both social and ecological, is massive suffering, both human and other than human. “Giver of Life—Sustain your Creation!” is our prayer; we should pray it without ceasing.
—World Council of Churches, Signs of the Spirit: Official Report, quoted in Sam Hamilton-Poore, Earth Gospel: A Guide to Prayer for God’s Creation (Upper Room Books, 2009)

Today’s Scripture
Pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise the words of prophets, but test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil.
—1 Thessalonians 5:17-21 (NRSV)
Prayer for the Week
Creator Spirit:
As the earth,
so beautiful, so warm,
receives and reflects the sunlight,
so may I receive and reflect your love.

My prayer is, “Lord, grant us wisdom, grant us courage for the facing of this hour.” We have been warned for a long time and conditions have changed greatly in my lifetime, yet humanity doesn’t budge easily until push comes to shove. The time is now and we must act.
A nice walk and visit to a cafe yesterday with my 88 year old friend, Russ Lenten study didn’t talk so much about the glorious hymns for this week. Off to habitat for humanity to arrange furniture donation. Packing up tomorrow and going to my daughter’s on Friday. Our cat has needed shots on Monday so she can be boarded while we visit the Poconos next week. Making progress! Thank You, Lord.
Prayers there is good news and progress with the concerns, tasks, experiences Ally&David, Julie, Jill, her Dad, April, and Lou face. God is with all of you always.
“Come quickly, Lord Jesus.” That is my prayer when no other words suffice. My prayers seem so minute, so insignificant. And I feel like those words mimic the words of many others.
A good day at school, as I completed everything that needed to be done on my part for my program’s deadline. What a relief. Really have next week in my sights now.
Zoom small group this evening. A bit tired, but hoping for good energy and conversation with this group. I wimped out and didn’t go to my god son’s game – the weather looked iffy and I was easily dissuaded. I kept an eye on the game on an app on my phone. My god son’s team won in a run rule 10-0.
