New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Our God is love. Whether we find ourselves surrounded by family and friends or alone in a quiet house, our God is love. Whether we are in familiar surroundings or in a foreign land, our God is love. Whether we are living in abundant health or weighed down by a failing body, our God is love.

Our God is love: inside us, outside us, clothing us, immersing us, comforting us, girding us, feeding us, holding us—in love.

—Beth A. Richardson, The Uncluttered Heart: Making Room for God During Advent and Christmas (Upper Room Books, 2009)

This truth, all we need, that God is love – is reason for rejoicing, quietly hoping and carrying on. Thank You Father, for the gift of Your Son. The Christmas Eve service last night had an emphasis on The Son, given for you. Yes, a gift, the ultimate gift. Given. Unto us a Child is given.
Rain here this morning and very mild temperatures. Sweet and sour meatballs doing their thing in the crock pot. Heading to dad’s around 11 – to prepare our simple brunch. One of the assistant principals gifted us pure maple syrup from her dad in PA. Will be delicious on our cinnamon bread french toast. We will gather with the rest of the family at 4 at my nephew’s house.
Took Roger to his solitary confinement room at my friend’s yesterday afternoon. Hated to say good bye to him, but know he will be in good hands. Very quiet around here this morning, and my lap is a bit lighter as well. All packed and ready to go tomorrow morning. Hopefully by this time tomorrow we will already have many miles behind us.
A Merry Christmas to all who stop by here today.

Merry Chriistmas to all who visit here today. I pray you are making warm memories with your loved ones. I went to church last night for the first time in years. It was wonderful and people knew me and said many Merry Christmas’s. Our service focused on light, because Jesus is the light of the world. It is rainy here also as Jill and I live about 2 hours apart. Prayers for Roger in his temporary home and for safe travel for Jill. Merry Christmas to all.
