New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

We are called to obey your law, gracious God, not because
we fear you but because your love has filled our hearts
to overflowing.

—Paul W. Chilcote, Praying in the Wesleyan Spirit: 52 Prayers for Today (Upper Room Books, 2001)

Today’s Question

In what ways have you experienced obedience not as duty but as a joyful response to love? Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.
—Romans 3:31 (NRSVUE)

Prayer for the Week

Gracious God, fill our hearts to overflowing, that we may live not in fear but in joyful obedience. When we stumble or fall short, remind us that your mercy meets us there, inviting us to grow, to abide, and to rejoice in your presence. Let our lives be shaped by your love and sustained by your Spirit. Amen.

Something More

I have to think about today’s question, I have no quick and easy answer. Thank You, Lord for this day of worship with Communion.

This feels a bit of a challenge but I thinks is quite simple. Obedience can be conscience or unconscious and the meaning can vary. When we are aligned with God’s will we can experience Love in simple ways all around us. I felt that today sitting with the children during children’s time. I also felt it assisting with communion. I just havr to carry that to all around me outside of church.
