Not AloneNew Every Morning | January 27, 2022
During the early stages of honest recognition of our pain and despair (in which we will likely identify other emotions and struggles), we may feel alone, hurt, or misunderstood; we may even consider giving up altogether. We tell ourselves that no one really cares or understands. Sometimes even God seems distant!
At stressful times like these, we can remind ourselves that other persons of great personal faith have felt the same way.
—John R. Wimmer, Blessed Endurance: Moving Beyond Despair to Hope (Upper Room Books, 2018)

How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
—Psalm 13:1 (NRSV)
Prayer for the Week
Healing God, when we feel alone, hurt, or misunderstood, assure us of your presence and companionship as you guide us toward a more abundant life. Amen. Submit your prayer to The Upper Room.

If I am in need of this reminder, my closest friends would be there to gently turn me around and point me, lead me to the Father. Also – I believe I would turn to the Psalms and find comfort there.
A wonderful day off of school due to the frigid temperatures. Some schools locally started calling off last night. But not mine. Even early this morning, we were still on. But – word began to spread around 5:30 that we were closed and I got the phone call at 5:50. Very welcome. Last night was a later night than usual due to small group. So – I have already taken a deep morning nap and changed on the dates for each of my classes on our online classroom platform.
Thinking about running a few errands later this afternoon – it is supposed to get into the 20s. It was sunny, but has become overcast now. Will continue working on little school things here and there while working through my coffee.
Good discussion at small group last evening. We have one new member and she has fit in quite seamlessly.
Thought about doing Roger’s testing today, but decided to wait until Sunday.
My friends Hope and Maria trust God in ways I want and need to trust God. They know in their hearts that God will never leave or forsake us. Lord, help me to be that confident.
Tried to post here yesterday, somehow it didn’t happen. Scripture tells me I am not alone. God knit me in my mother’s womb, loved me before I knew God, loved me while I was a sinner, saved me from my sin, and now Christ lives in me. Thank You, Lord!
Oh, I do miss the posts of those who frequent this site. It takes effort to review the posts.
The message is progressing, almost done, lots of scripture about God’s love that never ends.
Paul’s message to the Romans about us never being separated from the love of Christ is thorough.
Cold weather never closed schools I attended or taught in, it was snow that closed the schools where I taught, Safety for all on their way to and from school and while in school.
God, Love, is with you.
