New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

I want to invite you to consider all that stresses you out at this very moment. What are you overwhelmed by? Could you make a hard reset and start fresh with a new perspective? What could you do to intentionally practice being with God throughout the course of your days and nights? If you’re a pastor or a ministry leader, who are some other leaders in your circle who could share the load? Where can you carve more time to be with your family?

Today’s Scripture

Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
—Philippians 4:6-7, NRSV

I’m staying the course. Hope everyone here in the Mount Washington Valley was warm and safe, CCUMC was open and warm all night, but no on one came. The wind made the -17 temp worse. Have another day of this and then back to the weather that is the norm these days.I always wonder how Native Americans made it through tough weather. Stay warm and safe. Thank You, Lord.

I need to reset my mindset as far as the stress of caring for someone I do not care for.
Bitterly cold here as well. I have to go to Walmart with Megan today and I am not looking forward to being out in this weather. Megan has a sore leg so she needs my help. I second Robert’s wishes for everyone to be safe and warm.

Yesterday evening God intervened and an automobile accident was narrowly averted. I am thankful and learned a valuable lesson. Praise God!

This is a good question – and one I need to sit with God with. Nothing immediate comes to mind – I will let the Spirit work.
Cold seems to be the theme…here too. I haven’t run outside for a few mornings, just too cold. But – there has been sunshine for 5 days in a row. Quite possibly a record for here this time of year. I got out in the sunshine this afternoon, as the single digits finally broke and it got into the 30s. Still quite brisk with a strong wind. The kittens and I enjoyed couch and blanket time prior to my walk.
Pork tenderloin in the crock pot – will get several meals out of it. Good to be home and just relax and take care of home and school things at my leisure. Looking forward very much to Cancer Support Group tomorrow. It has been a rough past month – with several emails coming out regarding deaths, new diagnoses. The person to lead tomorrow – his wife found out her cancer is back a few weeks ago. She is a unique person, but her faith speaks volumes to me. As she has begun treatment, I don’t know that she will be able to attend in person.
Spring tennis also begins tomorrow night. My rating got bumped up – something I had been aspiring to for many many years. Well, I made it – but now I will really be playing tough competition. I relish the underdog role. But because I got bumped up, I cannot return to my summer team which made it to state this past summer. A bittersweet bump.
