Today’s Reflection
Pray by the clock if you cannot pray by the heartbeat. In doing so you will be fixing a prayer habit, even if you don’t feel a prayer glow. The habit is getting into your nerve cells and becoming a fixed attitude or disposition. That fact is more significant than the glow. For once you have established a fixed habit, you will discover yourself inwardly set for prayer as a life attitude.

Prayer for the Week
Gracious Christ, teach me to pray. . . . Give me the mind to pray, the love to pray, the will to pray. Let prayer be the aroma of every act, the atmosphere of every thought, my native air. In your name. Amen. [Prayer by E. Stanley Jones]
