New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Since our spiritual life isn’t just a slice of our life but our whole life seen from the perspective of relationship with God, what happens when we forget to surrender to the presence and agency of the living Christ within us, the very Life within our life? Here’s what: We burn ourselves out making things happen.

—L. Roger Owens, Everyday Contemplative: The Way of Prayerful Living (Upper Room Books, 2022)

Today’s Question

What does it mean to surrender to Christ, “the very Life within our life”?

Today’s Scripture

When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory.
—Colossians 3:4 (NRSV)

Prayer for the Week

Nurturing God, tend our lives like a patient gardener. May our desire for you grow as your grace works the soil of our lives. Amen. Submit your prayer to The Upper Room.

Not 100% sure of the “ life within my life”, but believe it is the Christ in me as a believer. Following Christ is what I want. My spirit is willing, my humanity is weak. Only by the grace of God am I enabled. Thank You, Lord.
A new month tomorrow, guest pastors will lead us in worship for all but one Sunday through Easter. Very thankful. Lay messengers still need to be at the ready since we have no idea what will happen after Easter.
Enjoyed the fresh 4” of snow on trails yesterday. We surely didn’t get the snowfall predicted, it stayed further south. Still thankful for what we got. Continue with Proverbs at Bible study tomorrow. Prayers for wisdom that Julie will have what is needed to restore health and bring peace to her life. Health, well- being, needed income prayers for Ally&David, prayers for safety at Jill’s school and an equitable sale of Larry’s condo. Thank You, Lord for all You do.

Christ in me, the power of Christ in me. My life is sustained by His will, His movement. What a Friend we have in Jesus. Blessing beyond measure.
It is good and welcome to see brilliant sunshine here and more moderate/average temps. We are bracing for another storm. Sounds like we will get a lot of everything…every type of moisture…rain, ice, snow.
Glad to grill dinner out this evening, I should say dinners – as I fixed enough meat for several more meals. My friend is coming over in a bit to go over the next chapter in the book we are working through. My god daughter’s game is being live streamed – so will be watching that as well.
