New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Over the past several decades I have had to turn and return to God, again and again and at many different levels. Nearly every day my feelings and thoughts and actions reveal fresh layers of self-centeredness and self-interest. With the help of supportive mentors and soul friends, I have learned not to berate or punish myself when confronted with these sinful dimensions of my life; instead, I remind myself of the incredible depths of God’s resurrection love and entrust myself again to Christ, “warts and all.” Only God can bring about the deep, inner transformation for which our hearts long.

—Trevor Hudson, Hope Beyond Your Tears: Experiencing Christ’s Healing Love, with  a foreword by Dallas Willard (Upper Room Books, 2012)

Today’s Question

Who helps you to entrust yourself to God, “warts and all”? Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

Do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience? Do you not realize that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
—Romans 2:4 (NRSV)

Prayer for the Week

God of Compassion, we offer you our tears—tears of release, tears of grief, tears of joy. Receive them in love, and reveal to us the healing they can bring. Amen. Submit your prayer to The Upper Room.

At this point in time I can’t name anyone who helps me entrust myself to God. There was a time when there was someone; but at this moment it’s my commitment. Fellowship time is almost here, I was up for a while earlier today and now it’s time to get up. Julie my email is robertmoeller246@gmail.com.

The wonderful group here at NEM helps me with all aspects of my faith journey.
Megan found some kitties on Petfinder which is an online tool to help pets find homes. That is how we found our current two. But this new pair she found are a bonded pair and must be adopted together and one has one eye. I feel that they need us and am strongly considering adopting. Sigh.
Prayers for Ally and David and their kitties. May God be with David calming his anxiety regarding the biopsy. Prayers for Jill, Larry and Becky and Roger. May Larry take this time alone to settle in to his new home. Prayers for Robert and Erich. May God bless Robert with a smooth and successful move. May God bless April for her caregiving so freely and may he also come beside her and share her burden. Prayers for all who visit here.

I am fortunate to have Christ-following friends who help me in this area. My NEM friends are integral members of these. I thank God every day for our journey together. Thank you for being here for me. Know that the things on your hearts are on mine. Love to all!

My innermost circle points me back to Him when I have strayed. They keep me rooted in His love and promises. Their ability to speak truth to me is vastly significant. God has brought about this maturity in me, that I desire their perspective.
My colleague, who grew up in my neighborhood when we were kids, the “celebration of life” for her mom was this evening. I stopped by and ran into some old neighbor friends I literally had not seen in 30+ years. My friend who I connected with a few years back in Las Vegas – her sister was there and she brought her mom. It was good to speak with them for a few moments.
I ran some errands on the way home, despite being very tired. I am glad to have them done though. Will spend some time with Roger in the recliner and then head to bed.
My dad has purchased his place in The Villages, FL – will be closing on it April 18. My sister and her husband went to see it today. The final piece is in place.
Another mild day – what a treasure.
