Today’s Reflection
The Gospel of Luke tells us that when Jesus enters the world, he is placed in a manger because no rooms were available at the nearby inn. Jesus’ birth reminds us that God does not abandon us in our mess but enters into it with us. Jesus is Emmanuel—“God with us”—in whatever mess we may be experiencing. We don’t need to pretend anymore that everything is okay. Our mess is where God is and wants to be.

Grateful to be home following church this morning. Yesterday was full and it was good to be home today. A bonus was I had no school work to do. I took a walk after lunch, then a nap, and took in some football. Other minor things tended to. Need to make a phone call this evening.
This week looks busy again, but not unmanageable. Have PT tomorrow after school – it is my Monday routine, it seems. I go back to the sports medicine doc a week from Tuesday.
Last evening’s game was a blowout. My god son played less than half the game. Gave his mom and I time to talk.
My sister is set to have rotator cuff surgery on Jan 18. She is on the cancellation list, would love to get it taken care of before the new year.
