Today’s Reflection
[William H. Lamar IV] reminded me that joy is central to the work of the Spirit and the work of justice. I remembered how many times I have been so serious that I have failed to celebrate the joy of an action of the Spirit, of a moment when justice was truly done.

Prayer for the Week
Gracious God, shape us through the small daily practices that draw us closer to you and to one another. Mold our hearts for justice, our hands for service, and our lives for love. May we be transformed by your spirit so that in every act, no matter how small, we reflect your kingdom on earth. Amen.

Knowing that joy is a result of justice keeps me joyful. Real joy begins with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Still in Eastertide when the greatest joy was accomplished as sin and death were overcome and we as believers, followers became children of God, we are full of joy. May we be the hands and feet that bring joy to others. Thank You, Lord.
I feel joy when those who have been seen as different are recognized as an equal and a child of God. May we all live as Jesus taught, by recognizing that the meek are powerful and the powerful are lacking.
Joy makes me feel very good, and it is not an emotion or a feeling of being positive. Rather it is a deep contentment and satisfaction that all is well with my soul.
