New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Help me, dear God,
to see my brother with the eyes of Christ,
to hear my sister with the ears of Christ,
to taste my neighbor’s hunger with the mouth of Christ,
to smell creation’s beauty with the nose of Christ,
to touch the world’s pain with the hands of Christ
and to love life, each life, every life,
with the heart of Christ.

—Sam Hamilton-Poore, Earth Gospel: A Guide to Prayer for God’s Creation (Upper Room Books, 2009)

Today’s Scripture

Let them thank the LORD for his faithful love
and his wondrous works for all people,
because God satisfied the one who was parched with thirst,
and he filled up the hungry with good things!

That is a beautiful prayer. “To touch the world’s pain with the hands of Christ.” May we be reverent, may we be sincere, may we be available.
I received a call from my sister yesterday morning – she was with dad at an urgent care center. He did not want to go to the ER. He was in significant discomfort. The nurse practitioner also said it was in a joint in his neck, not muscular. I will check in on him later today, take him some food and spend some time with him. He has an appointment early tomorrow morning with the chiropractor. He cannot get comfortable in bed, but seems to be able to rest in his new recliner.
I met up with a former student yesterday for a walk and talk. She a special one, seeking the Lord and trusting Him. Very much an extrovert, this year has been difficult for her. She got sent home from school in California and is staying with her grandparents. Her boyfriend is also a former student of mine. She is interning with a law firm in California…so very fortunate to do that remotely. I will always remember the morning I was at school, having found out mom had cancer, and this student came into my room while I was putting instructions on the board for the students and substitute and she just held me. God showering His grace on me through her.

Yes, your former student is a special one. Thankful for that story. I have had hugs from former students.
Hope your Dad’s neck joint problem can be resolved. Glad both you and Becky take such good care of him,

I don’t know what God thinks about me. Hopefully my trust in God is sincere, I know God knows me better than anyone, without God I wouldn’t exist. Thank You, Lord, for the blessings of the day.

ZOOM worship comes from Vermont today as the pastor is there. Romans 8:1-11 is the scripture for today.
Thankful for the way the paint job on my model is turning out. Have photos from many angles of the car and I think my model looks pretty good. Still a few things to do, but it’s close to finished.

Thankful Anneliese’s dental work has been successful. Hope Meesook is recovering as well. A few more hot days in the forecast. Prayers for all of your concerns, joys, needs, and safety. Thank You, Lord.
